I was born and raised on the sugar clay of the Loess Hills. Educated in the traditional way, elementary, middle, high, most named after dead presidents. They were simple days when you knew all your neighbors. We walked back and forth to school. We sat down at the end of the day as a family said a prayer and enjoyed a meal my mother had cooked.

I rolled and tossed the news of the day, Council Bluffs Nonpareil and the Omaha World Hearld as soon as I was able. Read quite a few honing my Midwestern worldview. If I delivered your paper chances are I mowed your lawn and shoveled your snow when the grass was gone. I said a few speeches for the Optimist Club. Learned the Optimist Creed a compass I still use today. Speeches about energy, it’s past, present and future, birthed in the backseat of a powder blue rambler in the gas lines of the 1970’s.

Dad worked six days a week to keep everything covered, leaving one important piece to my mother. Come Sunday morning dad still in bed. She would walk my sister and me down to the corner church. They taught me about Spirit, Love, Faith and Forgiveness. Work ethic from my dad and Spirit from my mom. They are still together serving in that same church and living in the same home I grew up in. Did I mention no shower, no dishwasher, no garage…

I am a product the 80’s. Cast my first vote for Ronald Reagan. Started college and got my first “real job”. I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha which I left early to pursue a career here in Kansas City.

I have now lived in Kansas City (Overland Park) longer than I lived in my hometown. After my internship with the pension administration firm I moved into independent practice aligning with firms big and small. Hung a few awards, helped a few people, learned to make the call.

Today you most likely find me sitting with a friend in my tree house (office), on my front patio in the morning sun crafting that one prefect sentence of an unfinished novel, on bleachers watching my daughters tossing some ball around, or happily and simply mowing my own lawn.

David Freisner started his financial planning practice in 2005, and brings a passion for partnering with businesses and individuals to achieve financial security. I draw upon the skills I refined & enhanced during my 20 years business experience as a CFO and COO in the manufacturing, higher education and healthcare industries throughout my practice. In past senior level roles, I have been involved closely with acquisitions, strategic planning, cost-cutting initiatives, identifying and implementing growth opportunities – both organic and new, along with developing risk management policies. As a CFO, I provided leadership that grew business revenues by more than 700% over a five-year period of time. I bring my extensive knowledge as a financial executive, a CPA, and as a Financial Advisor to work for business owners, executive teams and individuals to facilitate achieving their financial goals. These entail areas such as retirement planning, developing retirement income streams, implementing risk management solutions to protect earnings power, and exit planning strategies that position owners to realize the most value for their business.

One of my major strengths is the ability to analyze an issue and identify various solutions, including pros and cons; risks and rewards that provide the best opportunity for a positive outcome, and then working tirelessly to monitor/adjust as new information emerges. One prior example was our largest competitor, who was national in scope and more than three times our firm’s size in both employees and revenues had decided to sell their business. If an outside competitor was able to acquire the company, our firm’s ability to continue growing would be severely inhibited. Multiple financing sources told our leadership team over several months that we would not be able to secure financing for the acquisition. I took it upon myself to go back to the drawing board and develop new relationships to secure the financing. The very existence of our firm hung in the balance, and I was determined to complete the acquisition. After six months of undeterred determination, we secured the financing; subsequently paid the loan back a year before the due date, which produced the catalyst for future growth. This challenge taught me perseverance and refined my analytical skills, which is critical when researching investment options for my clients.

I am married to the best spouse and friend I could have ever wished for, and we have three adult children. When I’m not absorbing any financial news and strategies that can grow my client’s portfolios, you can find me weightlifting, bicycling (preferably in the mountains of Colorado), snow skiing or ballroom dancing.

My credentials include a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. I completed my education while working full time for a major contractor in the area. I have earned the CPA designation, Series 65 and am a 2011 graduate of the Leadership Overland Park program.

Lawrence Hamtil is a fourteen-year veteran of the financial services industry, having served clients in all aspects of the business during his career, which started in 2002, when, still a student at Rockhurst University, he signed on as an intern at Dekat & Dekat Financial Advisors. At Dekat & Dekat, he built financial models for their portfolios, and he assisted them in the management of their client relationships. In 2005, he joined Dennis Wallace of Fortune Financial Services, LLC, becoming, at the time, one of Multi-Financial Securities, Inc’s youngest registered representatives. In 2008, Dennis and Lawrence made the decision to become fully independent by founding their own Registered Investment Advisory (RIA), Fortune Financial Advisors, LLC. He serves clients in the United States and Europe. His financial commentary has been quoted in such publications as Barron’s and U.S. News & World Report.

Lawrence credits the decision to become an independent, fee-based advisor with the long-lasting, productive client relationships he has nurtured through several market cycles. He credits his Brazilian wife, Renata, for his appreciation of global economics and politics, while helping him improve his Spanish and Portuguese. When he’s not reading the tea leaves of the financial markets, you can find him doing anything from practicing his archery and working on his Jeep, to listening to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, or contemplating rococo architecture.

Lawrence is the youngest child of ten, and now has forty nieces and nephews. He has been a caregiver to his father, – a sufferer of advanced Parkinson’s and dementia for much of the last fifteen years, and it this experience which, though trying on his patience and consuming of his energies, he credits with his appreciation of the transitory nature of life, and, like a compass when he goes astray, keeps him centered on what is truly important in his daily affairs.

Stan has an extensive background in tax and accounting, including a 16-year career as an Internal Revenue Agent with the IRS and is still an instructor for the Becker CPA Exam Review Course.

When not sitting behind a desk, Stan, and his wife, both avid sports fans, enjoy traveling. Some of their favorite excursions include San Diego, Colorado Springs, Guam and Sicily. Stan is a proud veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Joint Task Force Katrina, and the trips overseas were part of his duty as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserve.

I started my career as an Operations Manager with a local financial firm that grew to managing over 100 Registered Representatives. This gave me the unique opportunity to work closely with a variety of clients.
